Welcome!

My name is Aaron Brumbaugh and I began my teaching career in 2008 at Northmont High School. I am honored to be a part of such a wonderful school, district, and community!

In my time at NHS I have had the opportunity to teach both mathematics and STEM courses. Beginning with the 2022-2023 school year, I will be teaching applied tech courses exclusively (Modeling & Simulation, Introduction to Video Game Development, Introduction to Computer Programming, AP Computer Science Principles, and AP Computer Science A.) This new path for me is exciting, and I look forward to introducing many students to the vast world of STEM and computer science. Each of these fields has seen a massive growth over the past several years, and the market is flooded with jobs that require the knowledge of computer programming, technology, and 21st Century problem-solving skills. My aim is to expose students to many of the jobs that exist in this realm while also providing them with a solid foundation in programming, problem-solving, and computer science knowledge and concepts that will aid them in their future studies or careers.

Outside of my teaching career, I have several hobbies and other activities that keep me busy. Music is a huge part of my life. I enjoy listening to and collecting music in the form of CDs and vinyl records. I also enjoy going to concerts and watching live music with friends. I enjoy playing video games as well as learning about the art, design, and work that goes into making them. My wife and I are both avid hobby board gamers, spending Saturday evenings or Sunday afternoons around the table trying to outsmart one another with each of our moves, or in some cases, working together to achieve a common goal. We also like to go hiking in different nature preserves and state parks.
