Senior Chief James Griffin retired from active duty service in the United States Navy after 20 years service.  His list of duty stations include Gas Turbine Engineer aboard the destroyer DD-964, USS Paul F Foster, Gas Turbine engineer aboard the guided missile cruiser, CG-62, USS Chancellorsville, Naval Security NAS Miramar, and Instructor and Curriculum Manager Gas Turbine Engineering Schools NavSta Great Lakes.  During his years in the Navy he also completed his degree in Adult Education with Southern Illinois University.  Immediately after retirement in June 2003 he assumed the instructor position with Northmont High School as the Enlisted Instructor in the NJROTC program.
