College Credit Plus is Ohio's Dual Enrollment Program and is open to students in grades 7-12. Students interested in CCP for the 2023-2024 school year must following a series of steps:
1. Students should talk with teachers and their counselor to see if College Credit Plus is a good option for them!
2. STUDENTS AND PARENTS/GUARDIANS must watch a mandatory counseling session to learn more about the opportunities available during the 2023-2024 school year, advantages and disadvantages of the program and how to apply. This presentation is virtual and is now available. There will be a follow up presentation at Northmont High School on February 13 @ 6 pm to answer any questions that students or families might have. Here is a link to the CCP Presentation: CCP Presentation 2023-2024
3. The law requires that the school be given written notification of a student's intent to participate by April 1. Intent to participate forms are now available as a google form. Both new and returning CCP students MUST submit the Intent Form by April 1. In addition to the Intent to Participate form, all new CCP students will need to complete a checklist that is signed by a parent/guardian. Here is a link to the CCP Intent Form: CCP Intent Form 2023-2024
4. Following the necessary steps above, students will then be able to complete the process by applying to the college or university as a CCP student. Students who plan to take classes at the high school will need to apply to Sinclair as a CCP student (sinclair.edu, apply now, CCP student in orange). Sinclair uses GPA (at least a 3.0) and grades in ELA or math (at least a B in two classes) to "place" college ready. Students who do not qualify for CCP using those measures will need to complete a placement test. We will offer placement testing at the high school in March and again in May for students who complete all necessary steps early. CCP applicants can also take the placement test at Sinclair or remotely from their home.
