Mrs. McKarns is a National Board Certified teacher.  She teaches 8th-grade language arts on Team Zion.  Mrs. McKarns is the 2020 Henry Ford Innovative Teacher Grand Prize winner and District 3's Teacher of the Year.  She was a finalist for the Ohio Teacher of the Year for 2021.  Mrs. McKarns is the newspaper and TV Crew advisor and serves as a Muse Machine advisor.  She is a fan of Dayton history and takes students each year on an amazing Dayton history adventure.
