Hello, my name is Nic Watkins and I teach sixth-grade math and science.

I graduated from Brookville High School in 2008. I received my B.S. in Middle Childhood Education from Wright State University. I received my license and am currently pursuing my master's degree from The University of Dayton.

I am married to my wife, Anitra, whom I met in high school. We have a son, Jonas, and a daughter Avelynn. We also have one dog, Rigley, and one cat, Lucy. When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, watching/playing sports, and building things that make my life and everyone else's life a little more enjoyable. My favorite sports teams are the New York Yankees (I know…), Michigan Wolverines (I KNOW!!!), and the Chicago Bears.

I am very dedicated to teaching and take a lot of pride in what I do. I have spent a lot of time thinking over the things that I do within my classroom and have them the way I do for multiple reasons.  I hope that sharing my reasons will help you and your student to better understand my processes and policies.

It is my firm belief that my goal as your student's educator has more depth than just to instruct them in the standards that are provided by our state. It is my goal that as your child leaves my room he/she will be more prepared to positively impact society intellectually and socially. Intelligence is effectively useless when we cannot share it with others in a beneficial way. I model a responsible, respectful, and encouraging attitude towards my students and I expect them to model the same to me and each other. Students will be responsible for doing the work, studying, and having the proper supplies when needed.
